About

After graduating from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, Terry Martin launched infinity Designs, a graphic design firm for over 35 years with clients in Florida and the Bahamas. However, capturing the beauty of Florida’s wildlife and seascapes in either luminous watercolors or vibrant acrylics is her true passion.

Whether the painting was inspired by an unforgettable adventure or a beautiful moment captured in time, Terry chooses a subject that she feels passionate about. From an osprey guarding its young to a looming storm on the horizon, the artist is always inspired by nature. Terry and her husband spent many weekends raising their two children, on a gaff-rig, wooden day sailer, which inspired her love for the sea and wildlife.

Terry Martin participated in the international juried show, Florida Wildlife & Western Art Expo in Orlando and Lakeland, Florida for five years and was awarded 1st and 2nd place in professional shows in Sarasota.

Terry feels very honored that Edgar Degas, the famous French painter, is part of her heritage. (Her great, great, grand uncle.) His masterpieces portrayed an impressionistic view of the ballet, opera and subjects involved in ordinary activities.

Two master American artists have always been a great inspiration to her: Winslow Homer for his pure simplicity of watercolor and marine subjects and Andrew Wyeth for capturing bold, contrasts with lights and shadows. Terry was privileged to study under Alfred Buell, a renowned American painter of pin-up art.

Terry Martin’s work is on display at her gallery in Towles Court, an artist community in downtown Sarasota, at 1938 Adams Lane, Sarasota, FL 34236. Please contact the artist for original and limited editions.
